King and Webbon, a design studio established in Bristol in 2017, is known for its contemporary fitted and freestanding furniture, integrating Formica® Laminate into its collections to blend tradition with modern innovation. Referencing Art Deco, Danish modern, and Japanese aesthetics, their designs showcase traditional woodworking skills alongside modern technology, creating pieces that are both functional and visually striking.

Drawing on Formica Group’s rich heritage and timeless appeal, King and Webbon incorporates laminates into a range of furniture, including dining tables, benches, and cabinet doors. One of their standout choices is the Formica Laminate in Matte 58 texture, a soft and tactile surface that enhances the natural beauty of the hardwoods they favour—oak, ash, walnut, and beech. Popular decors such as F8858 Just Rose, F5344 Seed, F8238 Blush, F8245 Marble Green, F8793 Green Slate, and F8857 Just Gold are frequently selected by their clients, bringing a modern feel to every piece.

Durability and ease of maintenance are essential for King and Webbon, making Formica Laminate their go-to material for family-friendly furniture. Its hard-wearing surface ensures that the furniture retains its style and functionality over time, even in high-use spaces.

“We admire the long heritage of Formica Group and its use in iconic furniture throughout the decades. Formica laminates pair beautifully with the hardwoods we like to use, and provide a uniform depth of colour, durability and a “modern retro” feel that we can’t get enough of.  We’d like to imagine our furniture with Formica Laminate being passed on to the next generation and creating the retro classics of the future.” King and Webbon
