Design Innovation at KBIS 2025

Each year, the Formica Group design team heads to KBIS to explore the latest looks for modern home kitchens and bathrooms. The eye-catching and innovative concepts displayed at this year’s international showcase gave us insight into the trends redefining the way colors, materials and finishes can be combined in interior spaces.

Here we break down our top takeaways to help you get inspired for your next project. If you want fresher looks, explore the Living Impressions™ Collection, which includes selections perfect for incorporating these and other design trends.

Color, Color Everywhere

Color is becoming more personalized as homeowners move from white cabinetry to darker, desaturated colors and moody neutrals. When it comes to specific hues, anything goes from barely there color to rich, bold looks. Wellness hues like biophilic greens, soft warm whites and luxury beiges are pairing with deep, warm browns, blues and greens to keep dramatic interiors cozy.

Deep Browns Add Warmth

One color worth noting was the prominence of luxurious, drama brown, a defining component of the overall warming trend in design. Wood is making a comeback for kitchen cabinets, and this is being paired with rich browns and nature-based greens for a biophilic palette. Wood tones add elegance, warmth and natural texture to kitchens to offer a sense of stability and longevity. Cocoa and red-based browns remind us of the past while offering a cozy respite.

Statement Stones Continue to Rule

Everywhere we looked, we saw statement stones with exuberant veining in an array of colors. In particular, green stones continue to offer opportunities for bringing the look of the outdoors to kitchens and bathrooms. Statement stones are an excellent option for islands, countertops, walls, tabletops and vanities.

Luxury Nostalgia Takes Us Back

Nostalgia was in the air at KBIS 2025, with historic design trends evolving in exciting new ways. There were numerous Art Deco looks featuring rich metallic details in brushed gold as well as luxurious woods and color-drenched fabrics, wallpaper and cabinetry. Mid-Century Modern design also continues to trend with its hallmark shapes, textures and finishes.
